Specialist Search
Dog Teams

Our Specialist search teams have been trained to the highest standards by approved trainers with extensive experience in both training and working in this specialist role. They work in accordance with the British Standard 8517 and undergo rigorous continuation training only on live drugs to enable them to maintain their high level of success rate.

Passive Scanning:
The role of a passive search dog is to scan people for the presence of drugs without bodily contact. With the dog on a harness and lead, the handler can walk through groups of people.

These can be static groups either sitting or standing or moving lines of people. Typical locations for this type of work are pubs, nightclubs, airports, schools or music events. The dog will indicate the presence of any illegal substances on an individual by sitting in front of them.
